This is one of the most fascinating interviews I’ve heard all month. The Huffington Post’s Lee Stranahan teamed up with Andrew Breitbart and Big Government to get to the bottom of the Pigford Scandal. Lee has been traveling via minivan throughout the South for the last 7 weeks interviewing black farmers and those closest to Pigford. What he’s uncovered will leave you speechless. Stranahan and Breitbart believe this story will prove to be the Watergate of our time. Even from the little of it I’ve already seen I would have to agree. The scariest part of Pigford is that it was nearly missed. The con of the century very nearly slipped through unnoticed.

On an awesomeness scale of 1-10 this ranks about a 13. Howard Kurtz scored an interview with Fox News boss Roger Ailes for The Daily Beast (or is it Newsweek now?) and Aisles doesn’t disappoint.

Right from the jump Ailes lobs a verbal hand grenade in President Obama’s direction.

“The president has not been very successful,” the Fox News chairman says in a lengthy interview. “He just got kicked from Mumbai to South Korea, and he came home and attacked

Republicans for it. He had to be told by the French and the Germans that his socialism was too far left for them to deal with.”

Zinger!!!! Ailes goes on to talk very frankly with Kurtz about Fox News, Glenn Beck, and the media in general. One thing that clearly grinds his gears is when Fox employees go off the reservation and criticize their colleagues.

There’s one criticism that Ailes doesn’t want to hear. He admonished the staff after unnamed Fox journalists told me they are worried that the divisive Beck is becoming the face of the network.

“Yeah, shut up,” says Ailes. “You’re getting a paycheck. Go on the team or get off the team. Don’t run around here badmouthing a colleague.”

I couldn’t agree more. You dance with the one who brung you. Loyalty and integrity seem to be in short supply these days.

According to Politico, Barack Obama will finally appear on The O’Reilly Factor this Thursday.

Barack Obama will appear on Fox News’ “O’Reilly Factor” Thursday night, a Democratic source tells Politico.

The move is timed to counterprogram John McCain’s speech to the Republican National Convention, which is likely to drive Fox’s ratings sky-high and to give Obama access to a conservative audience.

With McCain’s big speech and now Obama’s O’Reilly appearance, Thursday is shaping up to be one hell of a night.

Fox Business Network’s Alexis Glick sat down with Barack Obama today and part of the interview consisted of a game of word association.

When Glick said “Wall Street,” Obama said “money.” To the word “John McCain” Obama responded with “honorable.” To the word “Iran” Obama responded with “threat.”

For a guy the NY Times affectionately labels “one of America’s last public intellectuals,” Gore Vidal might be the dumbest man alive.

In an interview with the NY Times that ran yesterday, Vidal was asked what he thought about John McCain. Here’s what was said:

…what about Mr. McCain? Disaster. Who started this rumor that he was a war hero? Where does that come from, aside from himself? About his suffering in the prison war camp?

Everyone knows he was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. That’s what he tells us.

Why would you doubt him? He’s a graduate of Annapolis. I know a lot of the Annapolis breed. Remember, I’m West Point, where I was born. My father went there.

Yeah, who the hell started that rumor? I guess Gore Vidal thinks the reason John McCain can’t lift his arms above his chest is because he got stoned and fell off someone’s roof back in the day. I guess the extensive video footage of him being held by those Vietnamese looking fellas was an elaborate hoax.

If Gore Vidal wants to keep the ruse going about him being an “intellectual” he should get back on his meds immediately.
