FBI Interviews With Saddam Hussein Released
The FBI has released the interviews it conducted with Saddam Hussein before his execution.
The declassified reports detail 20 interviews and 5 “casual conversations” that make for fascinating reading.
After that, enjoy a replay of Saddam’s execution:
Audio: Tearful Military Wife Upset Over Obama’s Cairo Speech Calls Mark Levin
While I didn’t think Obama’s speech in Cairo was all bad, I thought it was disgraceful when he told the Muslim world that Iraq was a “war of choice.”
What kind of president tells the world that his country’s troops are dying in a pointless, frivolous war.
All those men and women busting their ass in 130 degree heat to build a democratic Iraq are really just wasting their time.
I realize left-wing dickheads like our president really do believe that, but they’re wrong.

Court Says Marine Can’t Sue John Murtha For Haditha Smear
A federal appeals court ruled today that corrupt congressman John Murtha can’t be sued for accusing a group of Marines of cold-blooded murder on national television.
Obama’s Phony Photo Op In Iraq
Here’s a story you’re not going to read about in the NY Times or hear about on MSNBC (The Obama Network). You know the photo that has been plastered everywhere of Obama’s surprise trip to Iraq where all the troops are hugging him? It was staged — completely.
It turns out Obama’s so-called “surprise” visit to Iraq — wasn’t a surprise at all. Commanders at Camp Victory were told 24 hrs in advance the president was coming.
Then soldiers were asked to raise their hand if they voted for Obama and those who did were hustled into the meeting place to await Obama’s arrival. Officials even handed out cameras and told the soldiers to hold them up. You can tell in the photo that all the cameras are the same.
MacRanger over at Macsmind learned about this from a letter he received from a sergeant in Iraq who was actually there. Jim Treacher has some interesting analysis of it as well over at Hot Air.
What makes this particularly galling is that the liberal media has used that photo to brag about how much the troops love Obama.
I can assure you that commanders didn’t have to put people in place to welcome president Bush to Iraq. The troops knew their commander-in-chief supported their mission and they loved him for it.
Contrast that with Obama who visited Iraq after his overseas America bashing tour in which he repeatedly told European audiences that Iraq was a “distraction” that will be brought to a close soon enough.
I’m sure that made the soldiers who are still spilling their blood and guts in Iraq feel great.

Iraqi Shoe Thrower Gets 3 Years In Prison
The repugnant shoe throwing journalist who insulted president Bush by hurling his footwear at him was sentenced to three years in prison today. If I wasn’t working right now I would organize my neighbors and dance on top of cars celebrating and waving the flag, but like I said — I’m working.
Iraq Holds Successful Elections, Media Silent
You wouldn’t know it by watching the news, but believe it or not Iraq held successful elections a couple of days ago with no violence. More importantly, it was Iraqi military and police who were in control of security — not American soldiers. 14 out of 18 provinces in Iraq held elections (the other three will be in a separate election later in the year) with thousands of candidates representing every political party and ideology imaginable. This is a first in the Arab world and a historical moment for the entire region.
These provincial elections were held in 14 of the country’s 18 provinces (Kurdistan will hold separate elections, and the disputed oil-rich city of Kirkuk was deemed “too hard” at present). This was the first post-Saddam election that the Iraqis handled themselves. Iraqi soldiers protected the polling stations. It was also the first election to have international observers in all 712 constituencies. In 2005 terrorist attacks made that too dangerous. Then, more than 200 candidates were killed – this time, eight died. There were 14,412 candidates standing for office, an impressive number.
This was also the first election in which there was no boycott on ethnic or sectarian grounds. There was an enormous spread of views represented on the ballot papers – Iraq is the only Arab country which offers almost everyone, including Trotskyites and monarchists, the freedom to stand for election.
If you notice, there was only a passing mention of the elections by the mainstream media who tried everything to engineer a defeat for America. The cowardly democrats led by Harry Reid also tried to make us lose, but they too failed. The liberal democrats were hoping for failure at the outset, but even the republicans who were initially on board with the mission later attempted to get president Bush to pull out.
The only person who stood steadfast throughout and refused to see America defeated was president Bush. Approval rating, reputation, and legacy be damned he stuck it out, doubled down, and saw us to victory.
Video: Harry Reid Actually Tries To Take Credit For Success In Iraq
Only a scumbag like Harry Reid would have the chutzpah to claim any responsibility for U.S. victory in Iraq. Any success we’ve had in Iraq has been in spite of him and his cowardly colleagues.
If you recall, Harry Reid went on national television fairly early on in the war and declared “the war is lost.” Which is a stunning statement for a U.S. senator to make while our men and women are on the battlefield.
In fact, prior to the Bush administration you’d be hard pressed to find a more treasonous statement by any member of Congress — ever. The bottom line is that Harry Reid is a real piece of sh*t. His outrageous behavior likely fed into Iraq’s insurgency and gave the terrorists a renewed hope they might win after all.
So, it’s particularly disgusting to see Reid on “Meet The Press” say this:
What a weasel. That really is horrible.

Iraq Declares Christmas Official Holiday, Shiite Cleric Attends Mass
For the first time in history the government of Iraq has declared Christmas an official holiday. Several hundred thousand Christians live in Iraq, but many were forced to flee to the Kurdish north when violence was at its peak in Baghdad and other parts of Iraq.
In a show of solidarity with Christians a senior Shiite cleric attended the Christmas Mass in a Baghdad chapel.
A senior Shiite cleric, Ammar al-Hakim attended the event, flanked by bodyguards, in a gesture of cooperation with Christians.
“We came here to bring a message of love, respect and gratitude to our Christian brothers and to share happiness with them as we have shared sadness with them during the cruel targeting they came under,” al-Hakim said in an interview with al-Furat TV. “We will do our best for equality between people and a good life for all, whatever their religious, sectarian and ethnic background.”
He is the son and heir-apparent of Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim, the leader of Iraq’s biggest mainstream Shiite party.
This is an extremely positive development in Iraq. This time last year Christian churches were burned and worshippers beheaded as Baghdad descended into an orgy of violence and bloodshed. Much to the chagrin of American left-wingers, the Iraq of today is a far different place. While much difficult work lies ahead, Iraq is continuing to move forward in a positive direction.

Video: Reporter Throws Shoes At President Bush, Secret Service Asleep At The Wheel
It was quite an episode today when that disgraceful journalist in Iraq threw not one but two shoes at president Bush. Thankfully, the president’s quick reflexes allowed him to duck both shoes just barely. But the question I have is where in the hell was the Secret Service? That nut was able to throw a shoe, then wind up and throw a second shoe followed by at least a couple of seconds before he was tackled.
By my count it was more than 6 seconds before Bush’s lead Secret Service agent made it over to the president’s podium. Imagine if that had been a gun and not a shoe? Secret Service agents are supposed to be constantly scanning a crowd looking for unusual movement of any kind. How in the hell was that guy able to throw two shoes before anybody did anything?
What we saw today was a complete failure of the Secret Service to protect the president. The president casually waved off his lead agent who was about to extract him from the room following the incident. Had that been a gun, the president would have already been dead. That agent looked like a deer in headlights. The president should send that greenhorn back to the academy for a bit more training before he entrusts him with his life again.
Watch this video of the incident. Note the piss poor response time by the Secret Service:
Blackwater Contractors Prosecuted For Doing Their Job
The cowardly far-left is rejoicing over the news that 5 Blackwater contractors are being charged with manslaughter for a shooting that took place in Iraq.
The five guards are charged with manslaughter and using a machine gun in a crime of violence. Though they are charged in a sealed indictment in Washington, they surrendered at a federal courthouse in Salt Lake City. The Justice Department is preparing to make the charges public later Monday.
Seventeen Iraqis were killed in the September 2007 shooting. Witnesses said the heavily armed U.S. contractors opened fire unprovoked, killing innocent motorists and children at a crowded intersection.
Blackwater says the contractors returned fire after being ambushed by armed insurgents. Just like the Haditha marines, this prosecution is about politics and nothing else.
Those contractors were operating in a war zone where ambushes were happening hundreds of times a day. If they say they were ambushed — then they were ambushed.
A bunch of suits at the DOJ don’t know what the hell happened that day and therefore should give the benefit of the doubt to Blackwater.
The far-left loves to vilify Blackwater in the same way they vilify president Bush and the war on terror in general. They’re are despicable cowards, who only have the freedom to bitch and complain and vilify because of those who fight on their ungrateful behalf.
The men and women of Blackwater are patriots and all good Americans should stand behind them.
Some Iraqi Officials Say Obama Doesn’t Care About Winning In Iraq
I’m glad to see that at least privately some Iraqi officials see Barry’s iron clad troop withdrawal pledge for what it is, surrender. His refusal to admit that he was dead wrong on the surge shows exactly what kind of President he would be.
According to the NY Post, Iraqis are beginning to see the reality of Barack Obama as opposed to the image of Obama the left-wing press pushes.
“He looked like a man in a hurry,” a source close to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said last week. “He was not interested in what we had to say.”
Still, many Iraqis liked Obama’s claim that the improved situation in Iraq owed to Iraqi efforts rather than the Gen. David Petraeus-led surge. In public and private comments, Obama tried to give the impression that the Iraqis would’ve achieved the same results even without the greater resources America has poured into the country since 2007.
In private, though, Iraqi officials admit that Obama’s analysis is “way off the mark.” Without the surge, the Sunni tribes wouldn’t have switched sides to help flush out al Qaeda. And the strong US military presence enabled the new Iraqi army to defeat Iran-backed Shiite militias in Basra and Baghdad.
Probably the most troubling thing is that impression Obama left about what “success” in Iraq means to him.
Iraqis were most surprised by Obama’s apparent readiness to throw away all the gains made in Iraq simply to prove that he’d been right in opposing the 2003 overthrow of Saddam Hussein. “He gave us the impression that the last thing he wanted was for Iraq to look anything like a success for the United States,” a senior Iraqi official told me. “As far as he is concerned, this is Bush’s war and must end in lack of success, if not actual defeat.”
Unfortunately, I think that’s pretty accurate. Obama’s opposition and that of his left-wing colleagues to the Iraq war is only partly about being appeasers, cowards, and pacifists. A major reason for the opposition is a purely political one. They hate George W. Bush with every fiber of their being and losing the war in Iraq is about causing damage to the President. Obama thinks that if he can cause us to lose in Iraq it will ultimately be blamed on Bush and will discourage future Presidents from engaging in preemptive wars.
It is that kind of delusional and dangerous mindset that we don’t need right now. What we need is a President who will steadfastly see our country through to victory.
