Flashback: On 9/11 James Carville Said He Hoped Bush Wouldn’t Succeed

March 11, 2009 · Filed Under Politics · 3 Comments

The problem with trying to rewrite history in the Internet age is that words last forever.

On the morning of 9/11 only minutes before the terrorist attacks James Carville was meeting with some Washington reporters and said this:

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”

Moments after learning of the attacks, Carville told those same reporters this:

“Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!”

Any fair minded person knows as I do that Carville meant he hopes Bush’s policies fail not Bush the man. Which is why I find it so disingenuous for democrats to keep saying Rush Limbaugh wants Obama to fail when they know full well the rest of the quote and that he meant Obama’s policies.

Carville/Begala Banned From CNN Political Coverage

Gawker is reporting that CNN has banned James Carville and Paul Begala from commenting any further on the current Presidential race.

CNN allegedly made the decision due to hundreds of complaints from the Obama campaign.
