James O’Keefe’s Next ACORN Is HUD

HUD James OKeefes Next ACORN Is HUD

It looks like Wired Magazine has the scoop on James O’Keefe’s next target after his now famous ACORN videos. He’s going after HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). Wired writer Noah Shachtman was given unprecedented access to Andrew Breitbart and a behind-the-scenes look at his “Big” sites. O’Keefe showed Shachtman a little preview of his HUD sting videos and they sound juicy. The bureaucrats over at HUD are committing fraud with the 10% tax credit Obama is giving to first time home buyers.

Click over to Wired and read Noah Shachtman’s excellent piece about Andrew Breitbart and his media tweaking world.

You can get the background on this lovely exchange from Hot Air. How great is it to watch Blumenthal leave the joint with his tail between his legs? Nothing gets a liberal running faster then being confronted by facts.

Statement From James O’Keefe On Arrest

January 29, 2010 · Filed Under Media, U.S. News · 1 Comment

James O'Keefe

Here’s a statement released on Big Government from James O’Keefe concerning his recent arrest.

The government has now confirmed what has always been clear:  No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office.  Nor did we try to cut or shut down her phone lines.  Reports to this effect over the past 48 hours are inaccurate and false.

As an investigative journalist, my goal is to expose corruption and lack of concern for citizens by government and other institutions, as I did last year when our investigations revealed the massive corruption and fraud perpetrated by ACORN.  For decades, investigative journalists have used a variety of tactics to try to dig out and reveal the truth.

I learned from a number of sources that many of Senator Landrieu’s constituents were having trouble getting through to her office to tell her that they didn’t want her taking millions of federal dollars in exchange for her vote on the healthcare bill.  When asked about this, Senator Landrieu’s explanation was that, “Our lines have been jammed for weeks.”  I decided to investigate why a representative of the people would be out of touch with her constituents for “weeks” because her phones were broken.  In investigating this matter, we decided to visit Senator Landrieu’s district office – the people’s office – to ask the staff if their phones were working.

On reflection, I could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building.  The sole intent of our investigation was to determine whether or not Senator Landrieu was purposely trying to avoid constituents who were calling to register their views to her as their Senator.  We video taped the entire visit, the government has those tapes, and I’m eager for them to be released because they refute the false claims being repeated by much of the mainstream media.

It has been amazing to witness the journalistic malpractice committed by many of the organizations covering this story.  MSNBC falsely claimed that I violated a non-existent “gag order.”  The Associated Press incorrectly reported that I “broke in” to an office which is open to the public.  The Washington Post has now had to print corrections in two stories on me.  And these are just a few examples of inaccurate and false reporting.  The public will judge whether reporters who can’t get their facts straight have the credibility to question my integrity as a journalist.

Video: Andrew Breitbart Vs. David Shuster On O’Keefe Arrest

Kudos to Breitbart for appearing on the Obama Network to confront chucklehead David Shuster for his lies about James O’Keefe.

It blows my mind how asshat “journalists” like Shuster can defend a sleazy criminal front group like ACORN. If we didn’t have such a corrupt Attorney General ACORN would be facing a RICO case.

ACORN was the first thing I thought about when I head James got arrested. It doesn’t matter if he wasn’t trying to wiretap, because the left doesn’t care about the truth.

This incident will be used by the left to cast doubt on the ACORN tapes and anything else he does in the future. Conservatives have to hold themselves to a higher standard when fighting on the frontlines.

We cannot afford to have even the appearance of illegality, because dishonest state controlled media outfits and failing newspapers will use it as a weapon against us.

It’s no accident smear merchants like Shuster chose to call this “Watergate II” because Bush is second only to Nixon when it comes to right-wing boogiemen.

ACORN Sues Undercover Filmmakers

From The AP:

ACORN has filed a lawsuit against the makers of a hidden-camera video that showed employees of its Baltimore office giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman posing as a prostitute.

…The multimillion-dollar lawsuit seeks damages from James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, who played the pimp and prostitute in the videos, and from conservative columnist Andrew Breitbart, who posted the videos on his Web site.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. ACORN contends the Maryland undercover video was filmed illegally. Maryland requires a two-party consent to create sound recordings.

No such law exists in the other 5 cities ACORN was recorded as far as I know.

Big Government has complete ACORN coverage with all videos and transcripts.

Video: James O’Keefe Appears On Fox Dressed As Pimp To Discuss His ACORN Movies

I can’t help but laugh out loud everytime I watch this. O’Keefe and Hannah Giles (the hottest “hooker” on earth) deserve major league kudos for possibly bringing down ACORN finally. That said, it’s stunning that the street thugs at ACORN actually took O’Keefe seriously dressed like that. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. It brings me back to many a college keg party when I would don similar outfits.

You can watch James O’Keefe’s latest ACORN takedown (this time in Brooklyn) on Big Government.
