Some democrats could almost taste the revenge in the air, but president-elect Obama took took the wind out of their sails early on. Telling them to do whatever it takes to keep Lieberman who represents Connecticut. So the dems stripped him of a lesser subcommittee chairmanship, which amounts to a slap on the wrist. Not surprisingly, his attendance at the lunch raised eyebrows among some of his colleagues.

Being the gutless peaceniks that they are, those with raised eyebrows waited until Sen. Lieberman left to complain about him showing up at the lunch.

Joe Lieberman’s continued full-throated support of John McCain for President and his continued attacks on Barack Obama have severely strained relations with many Democrats. Although, I would argue that the relationship became strained when his party threw him under the bus for supporting the Iraq war.

In the eyes of many “freedom loving” Democrats, it was just unacceptable for Joe Lieberman to have an opinion on Iraq that differed from the rest of the herd.

They actually tried to throw him out of the party because he didn’t support defeat in Iraq. The way Joe Lieberman has been treated by the party he dedicated his life to has been an absolute disgrace. So I can’t believe anyone would really be shocked that Joe is not feeling particularly loyal to the Democratic party these days.

The only way to be accepted in today’s Democratic party is to subscribe to a radical, far-left ideology that only a tiny fringe minority of the country believes in.

The fact that Joe was willing to put everything on the line to keep us from defeat in Iraq shows a level of character and integrity that few politicians these days possess.

Joe Lieberman is a good man and should be respected.

Lieberman Rules Out Running With McCain

Politics

Republicans

Election 2008

Joe Lieberman

John McCain

Joe Lieberman is ruling out even the possibility of being John McCain’s running mate this election season. “No, I’d tell him, ‘Thanks, John, I’ve been there, I’ve done that. In the end it was Lieberman who got the last laugh, running as an independent for re-election and easily winning.

Among far-left Democrats hatred for Joe Lieberman runs a strong third after George Bush and Dick Cheney, and his support for McCain will no doubt deepen that hatred.

Joe Lieberman is one of only a fraction of Democrats with any sanity left. Unfortunately, the Democratic party has largely been hi-jacked by shrill, anti-war, radicals with a dangerous and naive agenda for America.

This new radical base has attempted expel or at least marginalize any members who fail to subscribe to the new far left agenda. Lieberman is one of the few remaining Democrats who represent the old centrist Democratic party that disagreed on policy issues with Republicans, but could be counted on to come together on matters of national security.

Lieberman has shown courage and integrity that is rare in politicians these days. He has been a supporter of the Iraq war not only when it was popular, but when it was unpopular.

His support of John McCain should will be seen as very appealing to many independents and Republicans, and could potentially pave the way for a possible McCain/Lieberman ticket election season.

-Chris Jones

Lieberman Blasts Democrats

Liberals

Politics

U.S. News

Anti-War

Democrats

Joe Lieberman

War on Terror

Wimps

Sen. Bush and the Republican presidential candidates remained truer than the Democratic party to its tradition of a “moral, internationalist, liberal and hawkish” foreign policy that was established by presidents Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John Kennedy.

“The Democratic party I grew up in was unafraid to make moral judgments about the world beyond our borders,” he said.

“Today’s Democrats are inclined to see international problems as a result of America’s engagement with the world and are viscerally opposed to the use of force – the polar opposite to the self-confident and idealistic nationalism of the party I grew up in.”

Joe Lieberman really is the only sane Democrat left in Washington. The looney anti-war left has totally hijacked the Democratic party. It’s only in recent years that the Democrats have come to symbolize a party of pacifists, who think an aggressive foreign policy is some kind of attempt by Republicans to take over the world.

-Chris Jones
