That’s because the two sides reached a tentative deal, pending the approval of union members next week. If approved, the Machinists say they will drop their grievances before the National Labor Relations Board, which had led the board to take the unprecedented action of suing Boeing to prevent it from opening a non-union factory in South Carolina. Beneath the happy talk, however, we’re left with an ominous reality — the appearance of a union using the NLRB as its personal weapon to shake down a private company.

Here’s what they got:

Though Boeing did not agree to shut down its South Carolina facility, the company did agree to build its 737 MAX passenger jets in unionized Washington state, though they had been considering building them elsewhere. In addition, the Machinists report the tentative deal includes:

Annual wage increases of 2 percent, plus cost-of-living adjustments;

An incentive program intended to pay bonuses between 2 and 4 percent;

A ratification bonus of $5,000 for each member;

Increases to the formula for calculating pensions in each year of the pact; and

Guarantees that new hires would continue to receive traditional pensions.

I understand how a company like Boeing would rather get the planes built than haggle endlessly with Obama’s union thugs, but at some point you have to stand on principle. As the CEO of Boeing, I would never have given in to those bastards. There is no way the NLRB would have won in court. Boeing did absolutely nothing wrong. There is no reason to pay already overpaid union assholes more money.

Video: Union Paying Occupy Protesters

Liberals

Video

#occupywallstreet

big labor

labor unions

I cannot wait to reign in these unions after we get the next Republican president.

I cannot wait to reign in these unions after we get the next Republican president.

Collective Bargaining Goes Up for Vote in Ohio

Politics

Video

big labor

collective bargaining

labor unions

Source: Associated Press Ohio voters are deciding whether to retain or ditch a law that restricts the negotiating rights of public employees. Fat buffoon Ed Schultz is rouble rousing in Ohio because public sector unions are about to lose their collective bargaining rights just like in Wisconsin. He invited on Toledo Mayor Mike Bell, a Democrat, to ask him why he’s siding with Republican Gov. John Kasich’s union reforms.

Mayor Bell explained that he has no problem with collective bargaining per say, but the city has no money and he can’t spend what he doesn’t have. Bell said he went to the unions and showed them the city’s books. He explained the city’s dire financial situation and asked them to work with him (agree to concessions). Not surprisingly, the unions told him to pound sand.

Bell told Schultz he has but two choices. Lay off hundreds of workers or reform the collective bargaining rights of public workers. He’s choosing reform.

The entire issue comes down to simple logic. It’s something these union thugs are incapable of using. They want what they want and don’t care to hear anything else.

Ed Schultz’s response to Bell was quite chilling: ”But you won’t go after the wealthy?”

It really does seem for a second or two sometimes like I’m no longer in America. The class warfare rhetoric coming from the left is so completely antithetical to everything this country was founded on. When did successful people becoming villains that we’re supposed to “go after?”

Ed Schultz should stop collecting his million dollar salary until this recession is over. He should donate it to Toledo to keep some union workers on the job. It’s time fat cats (really fat cats in his case) like him started paying their fair share.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Teamsters Thug James Hoffa Uses Violent Rhetoric Against Tea Party

Liberals

Video

big labor

james hoffa

labor day

labor unions

teamsters

violent rhetoric

Here’s Teamsters thug James Hoffa speaking at a Labor Day rally right before President Obama himself hit the stage. Striking Verizon workers are camped out in front of the private home of a Verizon VP. They have a massive inflatable rat at the end of his driveway. The union thugs are screaming into a bullhorn and revving motorcycles. If I were that Verizon executive this would harden my position even further. These assholes would get a new contract over my dead body. I would never give in. I wouldn’t care if they took up residence at the end of my driveway, they would never get jack shit from me.

The absolute worst thing Verizon could do would be to give in to this kind of behavior. All it does is legitimize this kind of thuggery and intimidation.

Also, I can’t see how this is legal. There has to be some kind of neighborhood ordinance or city ordinance that would put a stop to this. Why should the neighbors have to put up with this kind disturbance in their neighborhood.
