Hillary Clinton Supporters Thank George W. Bush

No, you’re not in the twilight zone and the headline means exactly what it says. The Hillary Democrats over at HillBuzz posted a very nice thank you letter to former President Bush and the former First Lady.

Here’s a sample of what they had to say:

We know absolutely no one in Bush family circles and have never met former President George W. Bush or his wife Laura.

If you have been reading us for any length of time, you know that we used to make fun of “Dubya” nearly every day…parroting the same comedic bits we heard in our Democrat circles, where Bush is still, to this day, lampooned as a chimp, a bumbling idiot, and a poor, clumsy public speaker.

Oh, how we RAILED against Bush in 2000…and how we RAILED against the surge in support Bush received post-9/11 when he went to Ground Zero and stood there with his bullhorn in the ruins on that hideous day.

We were convinced that ANYONE who was president would have done what Bush did, and would have set that right tone of leadership in the wake of that disaster.  President Gore, President Perot, President Nader, you name it.  ANYONE, we assumed, would have filled that role perfectly.

Well, we told you before how much the current president, Dr. Utopia, made us realize just how wrong we were about Bush.  We shudder to think what Dr. Utopia would have done post-9/11.  He would have not gone there with a bullhorn and struck that right tone.  More likely than not, he would have been his usual fey, apologetic self and waxed professorially about how evil America is and how justified Muslims are for attacking us, with a sidebar on how good the attacks were because they would humble us.

Honestly, we don’t think President Gore would have been much better that day.  The world needed George W. Bush, his bullhorn, and his indominable spirit that day…and we will forever be grateful to this man for that.

As we will always be grateful for what George and Laura Bush did this week, with no media attention, when they very quietly went to Ft. Hood and met personally with the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.

FOR HOURS.

The Bushes went and met privately with these families for HOURS, hugging them, holding them, comforting them.

If there are any of you out there with any connection at all to the Bushes, we implore you to give them our thanks…

Click over to HillBuzz to read the rest. I think it shows a lot of courage and independence on their part to do something like this. Many of us have always known what a kind and decent man President Bush is and it’s nice to see folks on the other side of the aisle recognize that as well.

SF Chronicle Columnist Attacks Laura Bush

May 1, 2008 · Filed Under Liberal Bias, Liberals, U.S. News · Comment

Nobody ever accused the San Francisco Chronicle of being anything other than a despicable far-left publication, but this is even a stretch for them.

SF Chronicle columnist Mark Morford writes a truly vile column in which he viciously attacks First Lady Laura Bush. Among other things he calls her ‘useless’ and ’sexless’.

Morford contrasts her with his vision of what a first lady should be, namely Teresa Heinz Kerry. Only a far-left loon could even suggest that a b*tch like Kerry is somehow better than a classy woman like Laura Bush.

His argument is that Laura Bush wasted her time in the White House by not traveling the world and taking on huge life changing issues. Morford goes on to belittle and disparage the First Lady’s efforts regarding  children’s literacy which he regards as unimportant.

“children’s literacy?” Ah, yes. Right you are, Laura has indeed taken on that wild ‘n’ wooly issue, fought valiantly to ensure lots of white children have enough access to “James and the Giant Peach.” It’s a hugely divisive, hot-button topic that’s tearing the nation apart and really needs someone of her position and influence to step in and … Oh, never mind.

Children’s literacy. Yes. I believe that ranks No. 291 on the list of the Top 300 controversial issues facing the nation today, right behind overpriced lip balm but just ahead of the demise of “Cathy” cartoons in major American newspapers. Good choice.

Morford just can’t understand how a woman can become First Lady and not attempt to grab as much power and as many headlines as possible. A loudmouth b*tch constantly competing for attention is exactly what our country needs.

The bottom line is that Mark Morford is a far-left hater and he’s doing exactly what haters do. Morford hates Republicans, Christians, and most of all George Bush. He’ll do anything to try and disparage the President even stooping so low as to attack his wife.

By even writing about this despicable column I’m really only giving it a bigger audience which is unfortunate, but it had to be done.

(thanks to Michelle for pointing out the column)

Via the New York Post:

A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents has told him to shut up, authorities said yesterday. German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.

They had been in the audience to hear the Bushes talk about their children’s book, “Read All About It.”

“He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, ‘What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,’ ” said John Lovetro. “He was unperturbed. I said, ‘Get out of here! You’re being a moron!’ ”

The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen – a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004…

It looks like Bush Derangement Syndrome strikes again! You can always count on the vicious and ignorant Bush haters to f*ck up an otherwise pleasant event.
