Obama’s New Party ties give the lie to his claim to be a post-partisan, post-ideological pragmatist. Particularly in Chicago, the New Party functioned as the electoral arm of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). So despite repeated attempts to distance himself from ACORN, Obama’s New Party ties raise disturbing questions about his links to those proudly militant leftists. The media’s near-total silence on this critical element of Obama’s past is deeply irresponsible.

Only in the bizarre and paranoid mind of a Huffington Post blogger could the idea even be floated that the cable news coverage of the DNC favors Republicans. It really says a lot when people who primarily watch MSNBC for their coverage feel it’s not quite left-wing enough.

Jesus, if MSNBC isn’t liberal enough for you then suicide is always another option.

This week Bill Kristol offers some excellent analysis of the ridiculous new attack ad against McCain featuring “baby Alex.”

For a guy the NY Times affectionately labels “one of America’s last public intellectuals,” Gore Vidal might be the dumbest man alive.

In an interview with the NY Times that ran yesterday, Vidal was asked what he thought about John McCain. Here’s what was said:

…what about Mr. McCain? Disaster. Who started this rumor that he was a war hero? Where does that come from, aside from himself? About his suffering in the prison war camp?

Everyone knows he was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. That’s what he tells us.

Why would you doubt him? He’s a graduate of Annapolis. I know a lot of the Annapolis breed. Remember, I’m West Point, where I was born. My father went there.

Yeah, who the hell started that rumor? I guess Gore Vidal thinks the reason John McCain can’t lift his arms above his chest is because he got stoned and fell off someone’s roof back in the day. I guess the extensive video footage of him being held by those Vietnamese looking fellas was an elaborate hoax.

If Gore Vidal wants to keep the ruse going about him being an “intellectual” he should get back on his meds immediately.

It looks like Scott McClellan isn’t quite finished promoting his Bush administration hit piece. According to the Huffington Post, Scotty’s grand finale will be in the form of sworn testimony before the House Judiciary committee on June 20th. Mark your calenders!!
