Berkeley Anti-War Thugs Block Entrance To Marine Recruitment Center
The disgraceful anti-war pigs at Berkely are not only protesting in front of the recruitment center, but refusing to allow people to enter the facility. U.S. citizens have a constitutional right to enter a Marine Corps. recruitment center if they so choose.
The incredibly incompetent Police just stand there and allow these idiots to break the law. The one cop says, “we’re trying to remain as neutral as possible.”
Last I checked the Police were supposed to enforce the law, not remain neutral. Does that mean I can rob a bank in Berkeley and the Police will remain neutral?
It’s amazing people trying to get into the recruitment center actually put up with that crap. It be great to see some marines come pouring out of that building cracking some skulls, but unfortunately that’s not likely to happen.

Berkeley: What Cowards Look Like

They might call themselves “Americans,” but in reality they hate this country and they hate our President, and frankly I hate them.

Berkeley City Council Tells Marines To Leave
The Berkeley City Council voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station “is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders.”
Let me repeat that, the Berkeley City Council regards the United States Marines as “unwelcome intruders.”
In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against the Marines because of the military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy. And it officially encouraged the women’s peace group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.
In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.
Here’s what Berkeley’s Mayor had to say:
“I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don’t belong here, they shouldn’t have come here, and they should leave,” said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates after votes were cast.
Mayor Bates has it all wrong. It is he who doesn’t belong here and shouldn’t have come here. It is he who should not only leave Berkeley, but leave the United States.
We don’t need disgraceful cowards in this country. Mayor Bates and the entire City Council deserve to be spit on for disrespecting our military.
In a perfect world we could lock those Code Pink bitches up for good. Encouraging those traitorous broads to in effect drive the Marines out of town is totally outrageous and shameful.
All Federal money should be immediately cut off for the city. If they are going to pursue a disgraceful agenda, then they should find a way to be a self-sustaining.

Ridiculous: Marine Faces Court-Martial in Iraq Death
A court martial opened Monday for a Marine accused of murdering an Iraqi soldier while the two men stood guard together in Fallujah.
But the 21-year-old Marine reservist says he acted in self-defense. Lance Cpl. Delano Holmes, of Indianapolis, is accused of stabbing Munther Jasem Muhammed Hassin to death as they stood watch at a security post on Dec. 31, 2006.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of unpremeditated murder and making a false statement.
If convicted on all counts, Holmes faces life imprisonment with the possibility of parole.
The killing occurred in the pre-dawn darkness after Hassin allegedly opened his cell phone, then lit a cigarette, said Holmes’ attorney, Steve Cook.
The men were not supposed to display illuminated objects because of the danger of sniper fire, and Holmes repeatedly tried to make Hassin extinguish the cigarette, Cook said.
Holmes maintains he knocked the cigarette out of the soldier’s hand and the two got into a fight. During the struggle, Holmes felt Hassin reaching for his loaded AK-47, so the Marine killed him with a knife, then radioed for help.
It’s despicable that some in the military are so quick to charge soldiers with murder. How can we give these young soldiers guns, and knives, and then not give them the benefit of the doubt when they use them.
It’s certainly not far-fetched to imagine an Iraqi soldier acting in a less than professional way. It’s also not difficult to imagine an Iraqi soldier trying to kill a U.S. soldier.
The idea that this young Marine just decided to stab his Iraqi counterpart to death one night while standing guard, is ridiculous. This is no time to play politics with the lives of the men and women who are in harm’s way.

Marine’s Father Sues Church for Cheering Son’s Death
Before the March 2006 funeral for Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder, a marine who was killed in Iraq, protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church, a tiny fundamentalist splinter group, picketed the service with signs that read “God Hates You” and “Thank God for Dead Soldiers.”
Albert Snyder, Corporal Snyder’s father, sued the church in United States District Court here, claiming invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The Westboro protesters, whose church is in Topeka, Kan., frequently picket the funerals of military officials and soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan because church leaders assert that God is killing soldiers to punish America for condoning homosexuality. The lawsuit, which is being tried in Baltimore, is believed to be the first against the church by the family of a fallen serviceman.
I think the members of the Westboro Baptist Church are some of the most despivable humans that have ever walked the earth. Free Speech be damned, this is just not right. I have seen these crazy bastards on TV and they are incredibly hateful and obviously nuts.

Pro-War Supporters Outnumber Peace Demonstrators at Berkeley
Flag-waving demonstrators far outnumbered a group of peace advocates who were protesting a U.S. Marine Corps recruiting center in downtown on Wednesday.
On one side of the street was CodePINK, Grandmothers Against the War, Berkeley East Bay Gray Panthers, Women in Black and other peace groups holding “no war” signs and chanting “out of Iraq.”
On the other were military veterans, mothers and fathers of soldiers, members of the UC Berkeley College Republicans and Melanie Morgan, whose conservative talk show airs on KSFO. They waved American flags and chanted “USA, USA, USA.”
Shhh! Good News From Iraq
Here is an excellent article from the London Telegraph about the Iraqi insurgency turning on Al-Qaeda terrorists. The reporter spent some time in the former hotbed on the insurgency and wrote a multi-part series on what he witnessed.
I can assure you that reports like this will NOT be covered on any nightly newscast or the vast majority of newspapers, because good news is never news when it comes to Iraq.
