Admittedly, I can’t stand poetry. I didn’t like it in high school or college and I don’t like it now. Far left poets are a scourge of the earth as far as I’m concerned. Common is a terrible rapper who doesn’t sell many records, but Obama likes him because he ‘s a “socially conscious” far left progressive. Common and Obama were both members of Rev. Wright’s church in Chicago.

Katy Perry did a kick ass performance of her new single “ET” on American Idol last night.

Britney Spears performed the single from her new album “Femme Fatale” on “Good Morning America” today. Her dance moves aren’t as tight as they once were, but I have to give her credit for trying to make a comeback. Nobody goes to a Britney concert to see amazing live vocals, they go to see an amazing show. And she still puts on a great show.

If you don’t know about this song you live under a rock. It has more than 16 million hits on YouTube because it’s so bad. The lyrics alone prove that Ark Music Factory should be called No Talent Hack Factory. That said, it’s sick the way some people are attacking Rebecca Black herself. She’s 13-years old. She didn’t write the song. People who viciously attack 13-year old girls they don’t even know should be killed. America loves to talk about the epidemic of bullying in this country, so here’s a great example.

Listen to Rebecca Black tell about the horrific things that people have written to her and about her. I can’t think of a situation in which I would write that kind of vicious stuff to anyone. Even people I hate. All this girl did was make a music video.

Not since the candidacy of Barack Obama has anything been hyped quite like the new Britney Spears video for “Hold It Against Me.” Half a dozen 12 second teaser clips were released in the weeks leading up to the videos debut yesterday. The teasers all went viral and created some serious anticipation from both die hard Britney fans and curious onlookers alike. I’m probably somewhere in between. Britney was once a great pop star. Actually, she was the pop star. Then for reasons unknown, at the height of her fame, the apex of her career, she decided to turn into a baby factory and a head case. Her career has never recovered and likely never will. Britney is now what Madonna has become except about 15 years too early. A washed up icon.

That said, she typically does make pretty good videos. “Hold It Against Me” is good in the since that it’s interesting and likely cost a lot to make. You will either love it or hate it. Frankly, I think it’s a little weird. And unfortunately for Sony, I’m no closer to buying one of their TV’s after seeing the video. The song itself is decent, but I’ve heard remixes of it that are better than the original.

I was stunned this morning to learn that Staind frontman Aaron Lewis is a Conservative. It just would’ve never occurred to me. Our good friends at RightNetwork recently scored an interview with Lewis and he had some surprisingly awesome things to say. I’ve long been a fan of the band Staind. It’s so refreshing to see a guy like Lewis not walk in lock-step with the vast majority of the entertainment industry.

Instead of doing concerts to “raise awareness” about non-existent Global Warming, Aaron Lewis prefers to tour with the USO and entertain our troops. He calls it “the most rewarding experience of his life.”

Lewis says he’s troubled by what is happening in our country and sees an over reliance on the federal government for things we as individuals should be responsible for.

It’s upsetting these times that we live in. There’s a lot of people in this country that are very confused as to how things work. Freedom is your entitlement. Everything else you have to go out and get it and you have to earn it. And there’s just a lot of people in this country right now that think the federal government is responsible for taking care of them. Read your constitution, it doesn’t say anything about the majority of things the federal government is doing right now.

Hey, that’s not right! He’s a popular musician. Shouldn’t he be denouncing “Tea Baggers” and telling us to buy a Prius?

Nope, not Aaron Lewis. He’s discovered that it is possible to work in the entertainment industry and still think for yourself.
