Watch France’s first lady Carla Bruni perform at Nelson Mandela’s birthday concert in New York.

This is the first time I’ve seen Bruni perform, and I must say that I’m impressed. She sings one song in French and one in perfect English.

When the camera pans to President Sarkozy in the audience — he’s positively beaming.
