The US military is becoming a cesspool of political correctness and diversity at any cost. It’s like Nancy Pelosi is in charge. Political correctness is what allowed a radical Muslim to move up the ranks and eventually gun down fellow soldiers in a terrorist attack.

Now this from the Navy Times:

The U.S. military is too white and too male at the top and needs to change recruiting and promotion policies and lift its ban on women in combat, an independent report for Congress said Monday.

Seventy-seven percent of senior officers in the active-duty military are white, while only 8 percent are black, 5 percent are Hispanic and 16 percent are women, the report by an independent panel said, quoting data from September 2008.

Efforts over the years to develop a more equal opportunity military have increased the number of women and racial and ethnic minorities in the ranks of leadership. But, the report said, “despite undeniable successes … the armed forces have not yet succeeded in developing a continuing stream of leaders who are as diverse as the nation they serve.”

“This problem will only become more acute as the racial, ethnic and cultural makeup of the United States continues to change,” said the report from the Military Leadership Diversity Commission, whose more than two dozen members included current and former military personnel as well as businessmen and other civilians.

Having military brass that better mirrors the nation can inspire future recruits and help create trust among the general population, the commission said.

Actually, the US military is about the only organization in America the public does trust. It’s diversity crusades like this that actually weaken that trust. I don’t give a damn what color or gender the people in charge are as long as they’re competent. Promoting people based on skin color or gender sounds like a very dangerous thing to do. Our national security is at stake.

Navy Capt. Owen Honors has been “temporarily” relieved of his command of the USS Enterprise based on the video that surfaced yesterday. In an effort to boost morale during a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom five years ago, Honors recorded a series of skits for the sailors aboard his ship. In the video leaked to the media, Honors is seen using so-called “homophobic slurs” and making off-color jokes.

The video is clearly over-the-top and controversial, especially in the politically correct times we now find ourselves in. However, one must consider the context in which Honors made the video. It was an attempt to lighten the mood and boost morale during a long and difficult deployment in support of an active war. And by all accounts it was a success.

Honors has had a distinguished career in the US Navy and is beloved by those who know him and have served under him.

Just days before he was to set sail again, this time as commander of the USS Enterprise, this five-year old video surfaces in the media? Fat chance.

With the fire-breathing liberal media howling about “homophobia,” the man’s career is effectively over. With the repeal of DADT still fresh, the Navy won’t hesitate to throw Honors overboard.

The person or persons who leaked the video should be ashamed. The US military is already drowning under the weight of political correctness and this will only make things worse.

There’s always one vindictive cry-baby in the bunch who doesn’t think he or she should ever have to suffer the indignity of being “offended.”

Over the weekend the FBI arrested a Somali-born American who was plotting a massive terrorist attack in Portland, Oregon. The arrest came in spite of Portland city officials, who in 2005 voted not to allow local law enforcement to participate in Bush’s anti-terrorism programs.

In 2005, leaders in Portland, Oregon, angry at the Bush administration’s conduct of the war on terror, voted not to allow city law enforcement officers to participate in a key anti-terror initiative, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.  On Friday, that task force helped prevent what could have been a horrific terrorist attack in Portland.  Now city officials say they might re-think their participation in the task force — because Barack Obama is in the White House.

What is ironic is that the operation that found and stopped Mohamud is precisely the kind of law enforcement work that Portland’s leaders, working with the American Civil Liberties Union, rejected during the Bush years.  In April 2005, the Portland city council voted 4 to 1 to withdraw Portland city police officers from participating in the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Mayor Tom Potter said the FBI refused to give him a top-secret security clearance so he could make sure the officers weren’t violating state anti-discrimination laws that bar law enforcement from targeting suspects on the basis of their religious or political beliefs.

Here’s the real kicker:

In the Mohamud case, it appears that Portland’s anti-law enforcement stand might actually have influenced Mohamud’s decision to undertake an attack in the city.  According to the FBI affidavit, the undercover agents asked whether he worried that law enforcement would stop him. "In Portland?" Mohamud replied.  "Not really.  They don’t see it as a place where anything will happen.  People say, you know, why, anybody want to do something in Portland, you know, it’s on the west coast, it’s in Oregon, and Oregon’s, like you know, nobody ever thinks about it."

How dumb are these left wingers? They refuse to believe that radical Muslims want to kill them. How much more evidence do they need?

This is one of the most disastrous policies I’ve heard in a long time. A large percentage of students in Washington area schools keep getting Fs in their classes. Could it be there’s a lot of bad teachers being protected by teachers unions? No, of course not.

It’s the “F” that’s the problem. West Potomac High School in Washington simply did away with Fs and are giving students an “I” for “Incomplete” instead. Students can only earn an F if at the end of the year they fail to do their assignments and learn the content.

The report cards that arrived home late last week showed few failing grades but instead marks of "I" for incomplete, indicating that students still owe their teachers essential work. They will get Fs only if they fail to complete assignments and learn the content in the months to come.

The change in educational philosophy is intended to encourage students to continue working toward mastery of material rather than accepting a failing grade and moving on. Schools throughout the Washington area and the nation have made other moves to improve grading methods, especially as they affect low-performing students, though few have gone so far as West Potomac High, in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County.

I guess “improving grading methods” is the same kind of liberal speak that “reform” is. In both cases it doesn’t mean what you think it means. This is right up there with banning red ink for corrections. We don’t want to emotionally scar students with red ink.

Schools don’t need grading methods changed. They don’t need more money. What they need is accountability. It’s insane that students are actually getting to high school without being able to read. Teachers should be evaluated at the end of every school year. If students are not where they should be academically or damn close the teacher should be fired.

There are so many great teachers in the country. I certainly had many. But there’s also a shit load of really horrible teachers. Teachers who are only still “teaching” because they can’t be fired.

Getting rid of the “F” is dishonest in the extreme. We’re going to create an entire generation of whiny morons who feel entitled to things they never worked for. This is making “too big to fail” into a way of life.

I had my share of Fs in school. F means Failure. It’s an important life lesson. It means you will be held accountable for a failure to complete the mission, the task, or the project. F means you f*cked up and you need to get it together. Life doesn’t give you an “I” for your mistakes it gives you a big fat “F.” The sooner kids learn that the better off they’ll be.

This is some sick shit. I just can’t understand what’s going on in this country. A boy in Sacramento was forced by his middle school to remove the American flag from his bicycle. School officials said they had received complaints from students and wanted to avoid stoking “racial tensions.”

Since when does flying the American flag cause “racial tension?”

People who find the American flag racially offensive shouldn’t be here. They should get the f*ck out. We didn’t ask them to come here. We don’t need them here. We don’t want them here.

Here’s a bit of good news out of left wing Hollywood. Despite outcry from gay groups and other left-wing grievance mongers, Ron Howard is refusing to cut a gay joke from his new film “The Dilemma.” In the film, Vince Vaughn’s character refers to electric cars as “gay.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, electric cars are gay,” Vaughn’s character Ronnie Valentine says. “I mean, not ‘homosexual’ gay, but ‘my parents are chaperoning the dance gay.”

Here’s what Ron Howard said about the controversy:

“I don’t strip my films of everything that I might personally find inappropriate,” Howard told the Los Angeles Times on Friday. “It is a slight moment in [the film] meant to demonstrate an aspect of our lead character’s personality, and we never expected it to represent our intentions or the point of view of the movie or those of us who made it.”

Good for him. We can’t allow the PC Police to dictate every aspect of our lives. Especially, what can and cannot be said in movies. Everyone is offended by something. If saying electric cars are gay (which they are) grossly offends your liberal sensibilities — then don’t watch the movie.

The way Vaughn’s character uses the word “gay” is the context in which it was used when I was growing up. Most guys I know still use it that way. If some people are offended, Boo hoo. I don’t really care.

Being offended all the time is gay. And yes, electric cars are extremely gay.

NPR has been gunning for Juan Williams for some time now. I remember last year when they pressured him to quit appearing on Fox News altogether. He refused.

So I wasn’t surprised to hear this morning that NPR had finally fired him. I was definitely surprised by the reason they fired him. Bill O’Reilly triggered a debate around the country after saying “Muslims killed us on 9/11” during an appearance on “The View.” That factually accurate statement offended the liberal sensibilities of co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg who stormed off the set enraged.

That evening O’Reilly talked about what happened on “The View” and opened a wider discussion about the rise of political correctness around the country. A new poll shows the overwhelming majority of Americans believe our society is becoming too politically correct.

O’Reilly had Juan Williams on to discuss the controversy and the issue of political correctness.

He said this:

Well, actually, I hate to say this to you because I don’t want to get your ego going. But I think you’re right. I think, look, political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis where you don’t address reality.

I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.

How ironic that Juan would become a victim of the very political correctness he was discussing.

Even though Juan is a liberal guy, I’ve always liked him. I enjoy hearing his views because he’s an honest liberal. What Juan said was absolutely honest. Anyone who doesn’t feel nervous about flying with people wearing Muslim garb is either a liar or an idiot.

Muslims killed us on 9/11. Muslims keep trying to kill us again. I keep a sharp eye out for anyone who looks suspicious when I’m getting on an airplane. By suspicious, I of course mean Muslim. That doesn’t mean I harass or report people. It means I keep an eye out and make sure I have a plan of action should the shit hit fan at 30,000 ft. I’m confident that I’m not the only one who thinks like that. Let’s not forget that it was only last Christmas that a Muslim from Kenya tried to light his underwear on fire over Detroit. It’s not as if we have no reason to be concerned.

NPR says Juan’s comments violated NPR’s “editorial standards and practices.” Which is lib media speak for “Juan has an opinion that’s different from ours so he must go. Oh, and he said it on Fox news.”

New Rasmussen poll:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Adults believe America today has become too politically correct, while just 23% say the country is not politically correct enough. Eleven percent (11%) say the balance is about right. Some people think that government officials too often override the facts and common sense in the name of political correctness, and 74% regard political correctness as a problem in America today. Thirteen percent (13%) disagree and say it’s not a problem, and 13% more are not sure. Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters said last November that political correctness prevented the U.S. military from responding to warning signsthat could have prevented Major Nidal Malik Hasan from massacring 13 people and wounding many others at Fort Hood, Texas.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that political correctness is running amok in this country. Granted, we’re not as nuts as Europe but some would like us to be. It’s hard to keep up with the all the words we’re not allowed to say anymore.

The way we speak about Islamic terrorism is the scariest issue for me. Political correctness has deadly consequences when it comes to terrorism. We cannot defeat an enemy that we’re afraid to name. I thought Bill O’Reilly’s appearance on “The View” the other day was the best illustration of that.

O’Reilly committed an unforgivable sin in the eyes of the Left by simply stating that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” Refusing to acknowledge who it was that attacked us on 9/11 and why is insane. When Major Nidal Hassan told fellow soldiers that Muslims were right to attack and kill our troops no one listened. When he had SOA (soldier of Allah) on his business cards no one paid attention.

No one wanted to be labeled a racist or bigot for raising questions about a Muslim soldier. Now 13 people are dead and 30 others wounded. The fact that people would even need to be concerned about being labeled a racist or bigot for coming forward speaks volumes.

This guy is a whiner. They should kick his ass out of the military. The US military is politically correct to the point of insanity. That’s what allowed Major Nidal Hassan to to rise through the ranks and murder other soldiers even though he was an outspoken jihadi.

The only person in the US government who’s a bigger apologist for radical Islam than President Obama is perhaps his incompetent counter-terrorism advisor John Brennan.

Brennan defends Islam at every opportunity. The man has political correctness coming out of his bones. He actually defended Jihad calling it a “legitimate tenet of Islam” and said the actions of Islamic terrorists should not be described in religious terms.

The guy is a total joke.

Now a video has surfaced of an interview Brennan did with the editorial board of The Washington Times. The issue of jihad came up and it was pretty much downhill from there…

His refusal to answer the question and simply storm out is a de-facto admission that he’s completely full of shit.
