The media pulled out all the stops immediately following the tragedy in AZ to convince the public that conservatives were at fault. THJ documented the media smear campaign. Fortunately, the American people aren’t buying it. The smear campaign was an epic failure.

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, only 15% of Americans blame “heated political rhetoric” for the shooting.

Saturday’s shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, in which six people were killed, could not have been prevented, 40 percent of American voters say in a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. Another 23 percent blame the mental health system, while 15 percent say it was due to heated political rhetoric and 9 percent attribute the tragedy to lax gun control.

Harris has a new poll out today showing President Obama’s approval at a dismal 37%.

According to a new poll from Politico, more people are getting their political news from cable than from any other source. Not surprisingly, Fox News is the network of choice with 42% calling it their main source. But the funniest part is how many consider MSNBC their main source for political coverage. A whopping 12%. They don’t call it “MSLSD” for nothing.

A new poll out from Public Policy Polling has Sarah Palin tied with Barack Obama 46/46 in 2012.

According to Rasmussen, 60% favor letting local police stop and verify immigration status. Giving local police such powers is at the heart of the new Arizona immigration bill.

I find it nothing short of stunning that it would even be a debatable issue as to whether local police can check immigration status. Why in the f*ck would you not give local police that power? They can stop people to check for outstanding warrants and a whole host of other things. Why should they not check immigration status? It’s a no-brainer.

The only people who are against such a common sense measure are radical leftists who want open borders and anarchy.

Here in Austin, you don’t need to racially profile to know someone is illegal. At 9:00 am when I’m driving to work there are literally (and I’m not exaggerating) hundreds of illegal aliens lined up on the side of the road waiting to be picked up for day labor jobs.

The cops around here just drive on by as if no crime is being committed. The illegal aliens stand around with impunity and have zero fear of being picked up.

It’s absolutely outrageous. America is the only country that doesn’t take this seriously. It’s time that something was done. I don’t think letting local police check immigration status on people is racist, or extreme, or taking us back to Jim Crow. It’s just good common sense.

This story made a sound emanate from me that can best be described as one part chortle and one part guffaw. All that crap Obama campaigned on about “restoring America’s standing in the world” hasn’t worked out so well. Not that I’m surprised by that.

Keep in mind this is a James Carville poll:

The Democracy Corps-Third Way survey released Monday finds that by a 10-point margin — 51 percent to 41 percent — Americans think the standing of the U.S. dropped during the first 13 months of Mr. Obama’s presidency.

“This is surprising, given the global acclaim and Nobel peace prize that flowed to the new president after he took office,” said pollsters for the liberal-leaning organizations.

Actually, it’s not a surprise at all. Americans are not as stupid as liberals would like to believe. We know when Europe is gushing over our president and giving him a Nobel peace prize for doing nothing — something is not right.

When Europe is in love with us we’re doing something wrong. The only time Europe is in love with us is when we’re not doing what must be done to protect ourselves and the free world from danger. It means we’re not ruffling feathers or rocking the boat like we should be. It means we’re becoming pussies like them.

The Democrats’ gap on national security has widened on several other fronts:

• “Keeping America safe”: Democrats now trail by 13 points (34 percent to 47 percent.) The gap was just 5 points in July 2008.

• “Ensuring a strong military”: Democrats trail by 31 points (27 percent to 58 percent.)

• “Making America safer from nuclear threats”: Democrats trail by 11 points (34 percent to 45 percent,) “despite the president’s strong actions and speeches on steps to reduce nuclear dangers,” the pollsters said.

That last one really makes me laugh. It really shows just how completely out of touch Democrats are. They can’t understand why Obama’s promise to cut America’s nuclear stockpile in half doesn’t make Americans feel safer.

We should be replacing some of our nukes with next generation nukes and bolstering our deterrent just as Russia and China are doing.

The bottom line here is that Barack Obama will be a one-term president (and a piss poor one at that) if he doesn’t wise up and start acting like a real leader. We don’t need some pussy ass ACLU law professor spewing failed liberal policies at us from behind a teleprompter.

In short, the president needs to grow a pair and move to the center. It’s time to stow Nancy “Stretch” Pelosi and “Dingy” Harry Reid under the rear axle of his old campaign bus.

Ever since the election of Barack Obama, the number of self-identified conservatives has continued to skyrocket. A new Gallup poll find 40% of Americans now identify themselves as conservative, while only 20% say they’re liberal.

According to a new poll, more than 40% of Israeli Arabs believe the holocaust never happened.

This is further proof that any kind of civilized negotiation with folks in the Arab world is a futile effort. They are by and large an ignorant, uninformed, and barbaric.

It’s beyond belief that anyone with at least partially functioning brain matter between their ears could deny the holocaust.

It’s not like global warming where no evidence of it exists, the holocaust happened less than 100 years ago and the physical evidence of it is overwhelming.

It’s absurd for anyone to deny something that is such a concrete historical fact. Of course, many of Israel’s Arab citizens honestly believe that Jews literally evolved from pigs so I guess this isn’t too surprising.

A new CNN poll out today shows Americans approve of enhanced interrogation techniques including waterboarding by a margin of 50-46.

This is not a surprise to me at all. I’ve seen many polls that show a margin of approval much wider than that.

The only people getting worked up about waterboarding terrorists are the corrupt, left-wing media.

Anyone else besides the media upset about interrogation is an idiot and doesn’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

I pray for the day when we can boot this Marxist out of the White House and get somebody in there with some balls.

A new Rasmussen poll out today finds that 49% of Americans are in favor of keeping Gitmo open, while only 32% want it closed. Barack Obama has of course vowed to close it — as any good liberal would.

Not only should we keep it open, but we should build a second one somewhere else. Gitmo should be a place that terrorists around the world fear being sent to. Gitmo should be a deterrent to those considering Jihad as a serious career.

We tried the whole law enforcement thing during the Clinton years and we know where that led us. The time for worrying about the “moral high ground” has long sense past. Unfortunately, it’s probably going to take a few thousand more dead Americans before the other half of the country starts to take our national security seriously.
