That said, I don’t think most Obama voters were under the impression they were voting for a strong military leader. Many people voted for Obama precisely because he wasn’t a strong military leader. Bush was a strong military leader. The problem with that is that we are not living in times of peace. America is in greater peril than she’s ever been. There could not have been a worse time for America to elect a sissy liberal who’s in denial about Islamic terrorism and wants to give up our nuclear weapons. But that’s exactly what we did. All we can do now is buckle our seat belts and hope this clown doesn’t destroy our country before 2012.

Poll: 57% Of Adults Think US Is Too Politically Correct

U.S. News

Opinion

political correctness

Polls

thought police

word police

New Rasmussen poll: A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Adults believe America today has become too politically correct, while just 23% say the country is not politically correct enough. Eleven percent (11%) say the balance is about right. Some people think that government officials too often override the facts and common sense in the name of political correctness, and 74% regard political correctness as a problem in America today. Thirteen percent (13%) disagree and say it’s not a problem, and 13% more are not sure. Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters said last November that political correctness prevented the U.S. military from responding to warning signsthat could have prevented Major Nidal Malik Hasan from massacring 13 people and wounding many others at Fort Hood, Texas.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that political correctness is running amok in this country. Granted, we’re not as nuts as Europe but some would like us to be. It’s hard to keep up with the all the words we’re not allowed to say anymore.

The way we speak about Islamic terrorism is the scariest issue for me. Political correctness has deadly consequences when it comes to terrorism. We cannot defeat an enemy that we’re afraid to name. I thought Bill O’Reilly’s appearance on “The View” the other day was the best illustration of that.

O’Reilly committed an unforgivable sin in the eyes of the Left by simply stating that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” Refusing to acknowledge who it was that attacked us on 9/11 and why is insane. When Major Nidal Hassan told fellow soldiers that Muslims were right to attack and kill our troops no one listened. When he had SOA (soldier of Allah) on his business cards no one paid attention.

No one wanted to be labeled a racist or bigot for raising questions about a Muslim soldier. Now 13 people are dead and 30 others wounded. The fact that people would even need to be concerned about being labeled a racist or bigot for coming forward speaks volumes.

(hat tip Story Balloon)

Skeptical: Only 18% Of Americans Believe Intel Report On Iran

U.S. News

Covert Weapons Program

Intelligence Estimate

Iran

NIE

Polls

Skeptical

U.S. Intelligence

I am glad to see that I’m not alone in my skepticism of the recently released N.I.E. concerning Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The report claims that Iran halted it’s covert nuclear weapons program back in 2003.

However, since it took U.S. intelligence more than a decade to discover they had such a program in the first place doesn’t inspire much confidence in their findings.

Combine that with the many rogue elements within the intelligence community who actively try to undermine the Bush Administration’s foreign policy, and you get the perfect storm for a bunk intelligence report.

According to Rasmussen Reports just 18% of American voters believe that Iran has halted its nuclear weapons program. A whopping 66% of voters believe that Iran has not halted it’s program.

Here are some other interesting bits of data:

The Rasmussen Reports survey also found that 67% of American voters believe that Iran remains a threat to the national security of the United States Only 19% disagree while 14% are not sure.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) believe that the United States should continue sanctions against Iran. Twenty percent (20%) disagree and 21% are not sure.

Forty-seven percent (47%) believe it is Very Likely that Iran will develop nuclear weapons in the future and another 34% believe Iran is Somewhat Likely to do so.

Twenty-nine percent (29%) of liberal voters believe that Iran has stopped its weapons program but 54% disagree.

Among conservatives, just 8% believe Iran has stopped and 81% disagree.

So it looks like the American people just aren’t buying the liberal hogwash that Bush “lied” about Iran so he could take us to war. Clear thinking Americans know full well that Iran was a threat before the NIE report, and remains a threat after the NIE report.

-Chris Jones

Election 2008 Poll Mania

Politics

Republicans

Democrats

Election 2008

Polls

From Rasmussen Reports: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Giuliani with 20% support nationwide while Huckabee attracts 17%.
