Everyone who loves the Internet should be celebrating today. The Obama plan to hijack the Internet failed. House Democrats were forced to shelve their left-wing “Net Neutrality” bill.

House Democrats have shelved a last-ditch effort to broker a compromise between phone, cable and Internet companies on rules that would prohibit broadband providers from blocking or degrading online traffic flowing over their networks.

House Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., abandoned the effort late Wednesday in the face of Republican opposition to his proposed "network neutrality" rules. Those rules were intended to prevent broadband providers from becoming online gatekeepers by playing favorites with traffic.

The battle over net neutrality has pitted public interest groups and Internet companies such as Google Inc. and Skype against the nation’s big phone and cable companies, including AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and Comcast Corp.

This entire issue was a fabricated one cooked up by left-wing groups and the Obama administration. The internet has worked just fine ever since its inception without the government wielding regulatory control. Net Neutrality was aimed at preventing broadband providers from doing something they’ve never tried to do. This was about the government trying get control over the Internet. Nothing more.

The chief proponent of Net Neutrality is a radical left-wing Soros backed organization called Free Press. Its founder and board members are the usual Socialists, Marxists, and Communists associated with everything else this administration has tried to do.

The founder of Free Press is radical college professor Robert McChesney. Glenn Beck has talked about him a number of times. He’s the former editor and current board member of the Marxist publication Monthly Review.

Even if you know nothing about Net Neutrality just look the people in favor of it and you’ll know instantly you should be against it.

Here is some troubling new video of Obama’s regulatory czar Cass Sunstein that Glenn Beck’s reporters over at The Blaze uncovered. This guy really is a nightmare.

I had to laugh out loud when I heard this. Even though Beck attracted more than 500,000 people to DC over the weekend, and Ed Schultz can barely get 100K to watch his crappy show, he had the chutzpa to say this:

The fact that he would start by sending out big labor goons shows that he missed the entire point of Beck’s rally. I just hope he keeps telling his listeners that Beck’s turnout means nothing.

This guy is a world class buffoon.

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) was once a proud organization that went after hate groups like the KKK and their offshoots. They’ve struck some mighty blows against the last vestiges of organized racism toward blacks and Jews (much to the chagrin of many race baiting lefties).

However, in recent years the SPLC has taken a very different turn. In an effort to stay relevant and stay in business they’ve launched a crusade against conservatives and Republicans labeling them hateful, bigoted, and racist. For an organization that has fought against real hated it’s unfortunate that they would trivialize hate by attacking what is clearly not hateful.

The SPLC’s latest target is conservative blogger Pamela Geller. She’s been a leading voice against the Ground Zero mosque and is co-founder of the excellent group Stop Islamization Of America (SIOA).

After reading Heidi Beirich’s disgusting hit peace on Geller on the ironically named “Hatewatch” blog at SPLC it’s hard not to be shocked at how low this organization has fallen.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has become a sewer of progressive vitriol aimed at conservatives and Republicans. The claims made against Geller by Heidi Beirich are as dishonest and repugnant as you’re likely to see anywhere about anyone. This is only one example in a long line of hit pieces and attacks on so-called “right wing groups” (meaning gun rights groups, Tea Partiers, etc).

Beirich considers Geller, Sarah Palin, and Newt Gingrich to be far-right, Muslim bashing, racists. Her proof of their racism is that racist Nazi groups like Stormfront have linked to several of Geller’s columns and said positive things about her. (meaning they think she’s swell — for a dirty Jew).

On the oldest and largest white nationalist forum, Stormfont.org, Geller’s anti-Islamic blog posts have been shared on several occasions. In January, for instance, “Thunderbird” posted several links to Geller’s writing and that of another Jewish woman who writes for the anti-immigrant hate site, VDARE.com. “Thunderbird” asked her fellow haters whether these “notorious right wing conservative Jewish bloggers are … on our side on many issues.” A compatriot, “GE Bonaventure” replied, “Jewish Nazi’s, Fascists, right wingers etc. are small in number but they can make sense.”

In May, “skinjob88” (88 is neo-Nazi code for “Heil Hitler”) gave Geller high praise on Stormfront: “In my country and the rest of Europe, [Muslims] are pushing for Islamification, they are killing good White teenagers and raping young White girls, they inter-marry and inter-breed with their family members. Don’t think for one minute the US is safe from Islam.” But the support wasn’t unanimous. One Stormfronter expressed anger that Geller seemed blind to the horrors of non-white races. In April, “Teutonic Beubonic” wrote: “She singles out Muslim immigrants in Europe for their uncivilized animal-like behavior and likeliness to commit crime, yet she refuses to mention anything about blacks or Latinos in the U.S. … Shame on her.”

Over at the Rebellion blog, run by the racist neo-secessionist group League of the South, head blogger “Old Rebel” has more than once expressed support for Geller’s anti-Islamic views. In August, referring to Geller’s protests in New York, the poster said that “[i]f the globalist elite has its way, more Muslims will be colonizing us.” “Anonymous” posted in reply: “Islam comprises much more than a cult. Islam, unlike any other religion I challenge you to name, is a top to bottom political movement that spans government, law, culture and worship practices that, when it achieves hegemony, tolerates no deviation from any of its aspects without severe penalty.”

So because Pamela Geller has written some things that Nazi groups agree with that makes her a racist and her views hateful. I didn’t know this standard existed and I’m not sure when it went into effect. However, I’m glad to know about it now because there is some other hatred that needs to be aired out.

We know that Rev. Jeremiah Wright is an America hating racist. He doesn’t like white people and doesn’t like Jews. Barack Obama sat in his congregation for 20 years. He was married in Wright’s church and Wright baptized his children. Obama referred to Wright as his “spiritual adviser,” “friend,” and “mentor.”

If racist groups linking to what you write makes you a racist, then what does befriending a racist and calling him a mentor make President Obama?

Glenn Beck’s show was fantastic yesterday. In another one of his epic monologues Beck perfectly explained how corrupt politicians and big labor are destroying America from within.

To get a sense of the rank dishonesty and hypocrisy of the dying lamestream media you only need to look at this story. We have suffered through dozens of cooked up stories in all the major papers and on network news about the “scary” tea parties. We’re always hearing about gun-toting right-wingers who are supposedly plotting violence against the government. There has been no evidence mind you, but that doesn’t stop the media from digging up the ghost of Timothy McVeigh at every opportunity.

The reality is that not a single act of violence has taken place at any Tea Party gathering. Not a single arrest has been made even when crowds swelled to the tens of thousands.

The irony here is that while the media is thinking up new ways to link Conservatives to violence that isn’t happening, they don’t bother to report on actual violence being committed by radical leftists. Just this week radical leftists held nationwide protests on college campuses over tuition hikes and benefit cuts. Much like radical Muslims do in Europe, they made their point by tearing the place up.

In Northern California, rowdy protesters blocked major gates at two universities and smashed the windows of a car.

Protesters at the University of California, Santa Cruz surrounded the car while its uninjured driver was inside. Earlier, demonstrators blocked campus gates.

University provost David Kliger said there were reports of protesters carrying clubs and knives, but Santa Cruz police Capt. Steve Clark could not confirm those reports. No arrests had been made.

An advisory posted on the school Web site urged people to avoid the campus because of safety concerns.

If you listened to the media you’d think they were talking about Conservatives. The truth is that Conservatives don’t behave that way. Our brains are still fully functioning and therefore we don’t smash out windows to get our tuition reduced or show up at the Chancellors home literally with torches.

The people who act like that are spoiled Marxists, Communists, Socialists, and assorted “Social Justice” types who think they’re entitled to something. Dumbass young people who think the government and the world owe them a living, an education, health care, pension plans, vacation days, and total equality among all living creatures.

So next time you hear some jerk in the media warning about potential violence from “tea baggers” remember who’s committing the actual violence.

Nationally syndicated talk show host Mike Malloy just called to confirm that the KSAC (1240 AM) rumors are true:

The station is changing to a gospel format Monday morning.

“I got the call from (KSAC general manager) Paula Nelson today — she told me it broke her heart to have to make the change,” Malloy says.

The Atlanta-based talk show host, whose show has been carried daily on the station, says he first heard about the switch earlier this week via his boss, Nova M Radio CEO John Manzo.

Manzo, on the phone from Phoenix, also confirms the switch.

The reason? Economics.

“They don’t have the revenue to support the format,” Manzo says.

Malloy put it in even clearer terms.

“It’s not a ratings thing — we have plenty of listeners,” Malloy says. “KSAC is experiencing what most other liberal talk show format stations are experiencing – it’s not a lack of audience, it’s a lack of business support.”

In other words, not enough advertising dollars.

Big-name, deep-pocketed businesses, Malloy says, are turned off by the station’s progressive format.

“If you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, you’ll hear (plenty) of national ads,” he says. “If you listen to someone like me or Randi Rhodes, there’s a complete lack of those types of sponsors.”

It’s a problem plaguing liberal talk radio in markets across the United States, he adds, noting that stations in San Francisco and San Diego have been forced to make similar changes.

There’s a reason that big business doesn’t get behind so-called “progressive radio” and it’s painfully obvious to everyone except progressives.

What respectable business is going to send millions of dollars in ad revenue to people who bash the President, the country, and the war on a constant basis?

Not only that, but liberals never miss an opportunity to bash corporations as evil and crooked. Why the hell would big business support the enemy?

Probably the biggest reason that big business doesn’t support left-wing radio is that there’s no benefit to it. The audience for Mike Malloy or Randi Rhodes is so tiny that it’s not worth it.

Only a very tiny sliver of America enjoys listening to hate progressive radio and it’s unlikely that will ever change. Companies flock to Sean Hannity, Bill O’reilly, and Rush Limbaugh because they have the largest radio audience’s in the United States.

Rush has the largest radio audience in America, followed by O’reilly, and then Hannity. O’Reilly and Hannity also have the highest rated news programs on cable television.

In fact the same comparisons you find between left-wing radio and conservative radio carry into television. MSNBC is far and away the most left-wing news channel in America, and it’s also dead last in the ratings night after night.

If liberals didn’t club listeners over the head with the same “America sucks” mantra 365 days a year they may actually get an audience, and maybe even a few sponsors.

A revolution is afoot at the deli counters, grills and salad bars of the U.S. House of Representatives.

According to Politico, the cafeteria in The U.S. House of Representatives is now a very different place.

The processed cheese has been replaced with brie. The Jell-O has made way for raspberry kiwi tarts and mini-lemon blueberry trifles. Meatloaf has moved over for mahi mahi and buns have been shunted aside in favor of baguettes.

The menu transformation is part of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “Greening the Capitol” plan to make the House campus more environmentally friendly and “socially progressive.”

Some employees are complaining that this new “socially progressive” campus is also becoming progressively more expensive.

“It’s a big jump from high school cafeteria to fancy-pants gourmet. I just wish my pay improved,” said Caryn Schenewerk, a staffer for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

House officials counter that the fresher and more varied foods were indeed more expensive but that they had tried to preserve low-cost alternatives such as pizza, sandwiches and prepared salads, which remain around the same price.

When you actually read what some of the new meal choices are you really can’t help but laugh. The food sounds good, but it just seems out of place in the congressional cafeteria.

You can now get pan-roasted Chesapeake rockfish with sweet potato fennel hash and yellow pepper relish. Or something a bit lighter like Pears with Stilton cheese and watercress.

Staffers who find themselves emotional and weary after a long day fighting for a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq might wish to dine on Cumin-scented leg of lamb with almond couscous.

There are also vegetables with funny names, like bok choy, arugula and jicama. There are baked goods with Italian names, like biscotti, focaccia and frittati.

With the immigration debate raging it only made sense to put something besides “Juan Valdez” in the vending machine that sells coffee.

Employees can now enjoy more politically neutral coffee from famed chef Wolfgang Puck, in flavors like “Vive la Crème Caramel” and “Tropic of Chocolate.”

Even the things that haven’t changed seem odd because their names are in foreign languages. The taco bar is the “Taqueria.” The grill is “A la Plancha.” The salad bar has expanded to “Salad/Antipasti.”

A person eating in the cafeteria is also afforded the opportunity to save the earth in a variety of new ways.

Regular trash bins have been replaced with recycling stations. Each station has four differently shaped slots to sort garbage and lengthy directions on proper sorting. Soup containers go into the square-shaped “compostable” slot, but soup lids end up in the rounded “landfill waste” slot.

Other environmental touches include Energy-efficient vending machines that sport a 6-foot-tall illuminated image of trees.

A poster trumpets the existence of a “pulper,” a big machine that mashes up waste into little cubes that go to compost centers, where, eventually, they biodegrade into dirt.

Nearly everything in the new cafeterias is biodegradable, from plates to utensils to straws. The biodegradable straws have caused considerable outcry, because when placed in hot liquids they allegedly disintegrate.

House officials contend that employees need to quit crying about the straws and sip their coffee like normal human beings, because “we’re trying to save the planet here.”

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making the cafeteria more environmentally friendly and the food a bit better quality.

The hilarious part of all this is the menu. Those menu choices certainly validate the stereotype of “liberal elites” and “limousine liberals” being so out of touch with ordinary Americans.

It is certainly a bit presumptuous on Nancy Pelosi’s part to assume that most people would want expensive gourmet cuisine.

I also suspect PETA may take issue with the idea that being “socially progressive” is munching on lamb legs.
