fox news 300x225 Ratings Surge At Fox News Under Obama Administration

After trying everything else, liberals thought finally with a democrat in the White House Fox News would go out of business and they could finally have a 100% lock on the airwaves instead of the 95% they currently enjoy. Those of us who actually watch Fox News (as opposed to liberals who hate it, but have never seen it) knew better. The success of Fox News has zero to do with who’s in the White House and everything to do with hiring the best people, creating the best shows, and most importantly delivering hard news without bias (Shepard Smith, Brett Baier).

Tv Newser is reporting today that Fox News is seeing stronger ratings than ever with the addition of some new programs and the change in administrations.

So far during prime time (through Wednesday’s ratings), FNC is averaging 2,495,000 Total Viewers, well ahead of CNN’s 1,254,000 and MSNBC’s 984,000 combined. In the A25-54 demo, FNC is #1 with 539,000 compared to CNN’s 388,000 and MSNBC’s 357,000.

FNC is up 23% Total Viewers and 28% in the A25-54 demo in prime time from the two weeks prior to the Inauguration of Obama to the two weeks since. CNN is up 5% in Total Viewers and 4% in the demo and MSNBC is down 1% in Total Viewers and 1% in the demo.

Here’s the breakdown for individual shows on Fox:

  • Glenn Beck is averaging 2,076,000 Total Viewers at 5pmET with 483,000 in the demo (up 49% in Total Viewers from the previous two weeks and 64% in the demo).
  • Special Report with Bret Baier is averaging 2,067,000 in Total Viewers at 6pmET with 457,000 in the demo (up 18% and 23%).
  • FOX Report with Shepard Smith is averaging 2,120,000 in Total Viewers and 519,000 in the demo (up 15% and 21%).
  • The O’Reilly Factor is averaging 3,705,000 in Total Viewers and 773,000 in the demo (up 20% and 22%).
  • Hannity is averaging 2,997,000 in Total Viewers and 693,000 in the demo (up 36% and 43%).
  • On the Record with Greta Van Susteren is averaging 2,036,000 in Total Viewers and 457,000 in the demo (up 26% and 29%).

It has become accepted fact in all circles (except at MSNBC) that MSNBC is the most biased network on television. They enjoyed a brief surge in ratings during the election mainly out of curiosity to see how Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann would express their love for Obama next.

But now that the election is over and the country finds itself facing serious economic problems, the time for laughs and freak shows is behind us. People don’t want to hear Chris Matthews relentlessly give cover to Obama or listen to Keith tirelessly attacking an administration that’s no longer in power. Nobody wants to see Brian Williams achor a so-called hard news broadcast where he spins every story to put the most favorable light on Barack Obama and his administration.

That’s why people continue to watch Fox News and will continue to watch Fox News. It’s absolutely the best news channel on television. Bill O’reilly will continue to have the #1 cable news broadcast in the country no matter how many times Olbermann calls him “Bill-O the clown” or refers to Fox News as “faux news, fixed news, fixed noise, fox noise, or fake news.

Unlike Olbermann, O’Reilly doesn’t avoid booking guests who disagree with him and in fact relishes it. You will NEVER see anyone other than the same tired, liberal panel on Olbermann night after night. They smile and nod and tell Keith how smart he is an then it’s off to the next segment. Then during the commercial he checks his blog on Daily Kos and gets instructions on what the next story should be. After the commercials, he rotates in the next liberal and the cycle begins all over again.

It’s incredibly tedious and predictable — not to mention boring. People who want unbiased hard news coverage watch Fox News. Those who want balanced opinion/commentary also watch Fox News. Even Sean Hannity (who’s the most partisan person on the network) always has at least one liberal guest every single night.

For those of you out there who’ve been told by a liberal that Fox News is all propaganda — don’t believe the hype. Be your own person and think for yourself. Watch it for a few days and make up your own mind. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
