Sarah Palin was in part the greatest act of political jujitsu in the history of American politics. In about 38 minutes, Gov. Palin single handily ripped the ‘change we can believe in’ narrative from Barack Obama’s clutches. In what was likely one of the most incredible speeches ever delivered at a Republican convention, Sarah Palin became the living embodiment of what it means to be a strong conservative woman.

Her folksy charm and great sense of humor combined with her obvious intellect and strong character make her the most refreshing candidate to enter politics — maybe ever.

Even more impressive is what happened in the middle of her speech. Gov. Palin had lengthy applause during her speech, and for some reason her teleprompter wasn’t stopped during the applause. This caused several paragraphs to go rolling by during applause lines which would have caused most people to faint given the intensity of the situation. Not Sarah Palin, she simply continued her speech solely from memory without missing a beat.

Similar things have happened to Barack Obama on the campaign trail, and it has left him a stammering mess unable to continue until the prompter was fixed.

No matter what the Obama campaign says, don’t be fooled. They are terrified by what they witnessed last night, and the far left which has grown in strength in recent years is absolutely horrified. Sarah Palin is their worst nightmare, and the McCain/Palin ticket is going to make the GOP turnout for George W. Bush look pathetic by comparison.

An early indication of the Obama campaign’s desperation is the pathetic and sexist statement they released shortly after the speech.

Get a load of this:

“The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change,” said Bill Burton, Obama campaign spokesman.

A strong conservative woman gives a historic speech and their comeback is to point out that she didn’t write it? Wow, does Bill Burton really expect America to believe that Barack Obama wrote all his speeches? Or that any President or Vice President writes their own speeches?

Oddly enough, every single anchor on MSNBC also made sure to repeatedly remind viewers that she didn’t write the speech. I have listened to literally hundreds of speeches by countless candidates this election cycle and this is the first time I’ve heard heard anyone bring it up. The left-wing media is in a frenzy because in their eyes she’s not a real woman, but an imposter who’s stealing the thunder from left-wing feminists who for decades have cornered the market in defining what it means to be a woman in America.

Repeatedly reminding viewers that she didn’t write the speech is another crude attempt to marginalize and belittle Gov. Palin. It goes along with calling her a ‘cheerleader’ and a ‘beauty queen’ rather than showing her the same respect that is due any Governor.

Having said all that, what’s important is not what the far left says but what millions of Americans saw with their own eyes. Those who really want ‘change’ got a chance to see a Republican ticket that offers just that.

Instead of giving speeches about change, John McCain has spent more than 25 years bucking his own party and doing what’s right. Sarah Palin has spent her time in public office not just promising change but delivering it — and with an 86% approval rating no less.

The Republican Party is back and Barack Obama should be worried — very worried.

-Chris Jones

The Hot Joints Will Be At The Texas GOP Convention

Republicans

U.S. News

Announcement

Conservatives

Convention

Houston

live blogging

republican party

Texas GOP

the hot joints

ANNOUNCEMENT: As many people know the Texas GOP Convention will kick off this week in Houston, TX.
