MTV Chooses Moron To Host VMA’s, Ruins Show
The no name jackass that MTV chose to host last night’s Video Music Awards succeeded in ruining the entire show. From what I’ve read about Russell Brand, his claim to fame other than being a smart mouthed Brit is dressing up like Osama Bin Laden the day after 9/11.
So I’m not quite sure why Brand was calling our President a ‘retard’ and making pleas for Americans to vote for Obama. Since Brand isn’t even an American it’s not really any of his business who we vote for. Such overt partisanship is particularly inappropriate given the donating habits of MTV’s parent company Viacom.
As Michelle points out, Viacom is one of Obama’s biggest contributors:
MTV, of course, is a division of left-wing media giant Viacom. Viacom’s PAC is among Barack Obama’s biggest supporters. Last year, Viacom PAC forked over $80,200 in contributions to Obama — ranked 19th highest among his PAC donors.
By August 2008, National Amusements, media kingpin Sumner Redstone’s political cash machine, had contributed $352,603 to the Obama camp.
Obviously the ‘cool’ kids are gonna vote for Obama, but from looking at the MTV Labs Blog last night, quite a few people are not and don’t appreciate being preached to at the VMA’s — by a foreigner no less.
Not surprisingly, the AP thought it was great.
I usually like MTV, but with all the partisan rancor in America right now, we don’t need some asshole from England insulting our President and telling us who to vote for.
