According to AmmoLand.com, Americans bought enough firearms in 3 months to outfit the entire Chinese and Indian Army combined. Moreover, Americans bought more than 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition in the month of December alone.

Whenever I think all might be lost for this country, I read statistics like that and I know we’ll be fine. Americans are smart to buy as much firepower as they can, because contrary to his rhetoric Barack Obama is the most anti-gun president we’ve ever had.

ti court Rapper T.I. Pleads Guilty To Firearms Charges

Rapper T.I. pled guilty to federal firearms charges last Thursday and received the deal of a lifetime. T.I. was already a convicted felon which bars him from owning any firearms under any circumstances. So when he was caught trying to purchase fully automatic machine guns with silencers in Atlanta some months back, he was looking at serious time.

He pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of machine guns and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Harris was arrested Oct. 13, just blocks away and hours before he was to headline the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.

He was charged with possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, as well as possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He faced a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count.

The judge apparently felt that T.I. could do more for the community as a free man than beyond bars for decades and agreed to a sweet plea deal. In return for a guilty plea, T.I. must spend 1500 hours talking to kids about the perils of gangs, guns, and gangsters, followed up by 1 year in prison.

His prison time could be increased or reduced, depending on his fulfillment of the terms of the deal and good behavior, they said. If he acts right he could be back on the street in about 8 months, so all things considered T.I. is getting a second lease on life.

If he’s smart he’ll spend his year in prison writing a few new albums and then come out with some hit records. Let’s hope he makes the best of this legal miracle he’s been blessed with.

Al-Sadr: “No Handover Of Arms”

March 30, 2008 · Filed Under World News · Comment

In yet another sign of weakness by the fledgling Iraqi government, radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and his outlaw Mahdi Army will not have to turn in their weapons as part of the latest cease fire in Basra.

Followers of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr will not hand over their weapons as part of a move to end a week of fighting in Iraq, a top Sadr aide said.

The aide, Hazem al-Araji, also said that Sadr’s followers had received a guarantee from the government that it would end “random arrests” of Sadr followers.

“The weapons of the resistance will not be delivered to the Iraqi government,” he told journalists at Sadr’s office in the holy city of Najaf after distributing a statement from Sadr calling on followers to stop fighting.

“We confirm that there were guarantees taken from the Iraqi government to fulfill all the points in this statement. Thus, no more random arrests,” he said.

Sadr’s statement also called for the government to halt arrests of his followers and implement an amnesty law to free prisoners.

So basically the latest battle with Al-Sadr’s militia was just another dog and pony show by the Iraqi government, since they clearly have no intention of actually defeating Muqtada al-Sadr. It’s absolutely stunning that a terrorist like al-Sadr is allowed to continue running wild with his own army of thugs.

President Nouri al-Maliki needs to appreciate the sacrifice that the U.S. has made and is continuing to make to ensure that Iraq has a stable future, by actually trying to win a battle.

The U.S. military should just go around al-Maliki and drop a 2,000 lb. bomb right on al-Sadr’s head next time he holds a press conference. Al-Sadr’s militia has captured Humvees and other vehicles from the cowardly Iraqi police and committed atrocities across the city of Basra.

Unfortunately, the Iraqi President lacks the courage to do what’s necessary to win and act like a leader. Over the last two weeks another handful of U.S. soldiers are dead and the Iraqi’s are just as weak and corrupt as they’ve ever been.

I have been a supporter of this conflict from day one and firmly believe it’s in our country’s best interest to make Iraq a success. However, if the Iraqi’s aren’t going to be as committed to victory as we are then there’s no point in sacrificing anymore American lives.

It’s a disgrace for the U.S. military to participate in dog and pony shows put on by the Iraqi government that end in a stalemate. Al-Maliki claims he wants to rid Basra of the Mahdi Army and bring it under control of the government, but then he plays games with al-Sadr and lets him keep his weapons.

The Iraqi government needs to get it together and act like they give a sh*t about that pile of dirt in the desert they call home.

China to test space weapon

October 23, 2007 · Filed Under Technology · Comment

A Chinese submarine will send test signals that could change the course of a satellite when China launches its first moon orbiter, as part of the country’s effort to develop space war technology.

two survey ships are deployed in the South Pacific Ocean and South Atlantic Ocean to send signals to maneuver the lunar exploration satellite, expected to be launched Wednesday. At the same time, a nuclear-powered submarine will send simulated signals to the satellite as a test.

Once the satellite-maneuvering technology matures, China would have the know-how to destroy other satellites in space in wartime.

China could launch cheaply-made weapon-carrying objects into space and change their courses to destroy or damage satellites of other countries by sending signals from submarines.
